What kind of glass is hollow glass

Hollow glass is a kind of new building material with good heat insulation, sound insulation, beauty applicability, can reduce the self weight of the building. It is made of two ( three) pieces of glass, using high-strength high air tightness composite binder, bonding the glass pieces with the aluminum alloy frame containing desiccant.

Insulating glass has many advantages over ordinary double-layer glass, so it has been recognized all over the world. Insulating glass is a kind of glass product which can separate two more pieces of glass evenly with effective support bond seal the periphery to form a dry gas space between glass layers. Its main materials are glass, aluminum spacer, corner bolt, butyl rubber, polysulfide rubber, desiccant.

Characteristics of insulating glass

1. Superior energy-saving effect: the energy consumption of modern buildings is mainly air conditioning lighting, the former accounts for 55% of the energy consumption, the latter accounts for 23% of the energy consumption, while glass is the thin easy heat transfer material in the outer wall of buildings. Because the desiccant in the aluminum frame keeps the air in the hollow glass dry for a long time through the gap on the aluminum frame, the temperature insulation performance of the hollow glass is very good.

2. High sound insulation: hollow glass can reduce the noise by 27-40 decibels. When 80 decibels of traffic noise comes to the interior, it is only 50 decibels.

3. Eliminate frost dew: if the temperature difference between indoor outdoor is too large, the single-layer glass will frost. The insulating glass is affected by the air barrier because the inner glass in contact with the indoor air. Even if the outer contact is very low, it will condense on the glass surface due to the temperature difference. The dew point of insulating glass can reach - 70 ℃ (excluding rubber strip insulating glass)

4. Increase of wind pressure resistance: curtain wall mainly bears wind load, wind pressure resistance becomes the main index of curtain wall. The wind pressure strength of insulating glass is 15 times that of single glass

5. Glass is easy to self explode: the production method of hollow glass is bonding method, which is cold processing. The internal stress of the original glass does change, the surrounding is sealed with elastic materials, so the glass is easy to self explode.

6. The film layer of coated glass will fall off: the metal film surface of coated glass cannot be exposed to the air for a long time, while the metal film surface of coated hollow glass will fall off in dry sealed air.

7. The original glass will burst: in the air-conditioned room, the outside of the single glass is directly exposed to the sun in summer, the heat is gathered. There is a temperature difference between the inside outside of the glass. When the temperature difference is too large, the glass will burst. This phenomenon exists in insulating glass.

8. Application scope of hollow glass: doors windows, ceiling of buildings, schools, hospitals, stadiums, TV, radio recording rooms other places that need sound insulation, also used in refrigeration appliances, aircraft, ships, locomotives other fields.
